This was the first collection of songs I put together originally under the moniker "The Starfruit Isles". Recorded in 2012-2013 and self-released in February 2014. I wanted to celebrate these songs being 10 years old this month so here is a re-release of this album. I really started to grasp how to tie sounds together and to play guitar while making this album and wanted to offer a retrospective of my early work and how it informs the way I create currently. It's fun and sometimes cringe-y going back and listening to old stuff from teenage years. Highly recommend.

"Balance On Me" encapsulates experiences of an emo teenager in big town NW Texas. From the earliest days of making music until now, so much of what comes out deals with feelings of home, belonging, family, loss and depression. I dealt with bullying, ostracization and deep anxiety in high school which caused me to exit public schooling. I found myself very isolated after that and tuned in heavy to music around age 16. It's no lie when people say music saves lives. I put this album together when I was 18-19. I turn 30 this year and naturally been reflecting on so much and looking back at my 20s and beyond and I'm just so proud that I'm still here making music and grateful that my values and mission remains largely the same but more empowered and clear. I'm deeply thankful for everyone that's followed and supported my work over the last decade, it wouldn't be possible without you all. I hope you enjoy this very first album of mine.
